Resham Mendi, M.D.

Medical Director

 

Dr. Resham Mendi is a renowned expert in the field of medical imaging. She is a native of the Chicago area, and completed her undergraduate training Summa Cum Laude at Northwestern University. Dr. Mendi also attended Northwestern University for medical school. She did her residency training at the University of Illinois, and completed fellowship in MRI and advanced imaging.

Dr. Mendi was selected as one of the two Illinois representatives as a Presidential Scholar. Dr. Mendi has expertise in MRI, women's imaging, musculoskeletal, neuro, and body imaging.
She follows her philosophy of providing the best possible patient care, giving personal attention to each of her patients, and professional service to referring physicians.

In her free time, she loves hanging out with her 4 sons and husband, walking and running with her dog, and practicing yoga.

 

Ramit Mendi, M.D.

Medical Director

 

Dr. Mendi is a leader in the field of radiology and imaging. He has served as the Chairman and Medical Director of several Chicago area radiology departments. His main areas of expertise are MRI and breast imaging.

He completed residency training at the University of Illinois where he was selected as chief resident. Dr. Mendi then completed fellowship training in MRI. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and was chosen as a Biophysics Research fellow. He has published several articles in the field on Medical Imaging.

Dr. Mendi believes in using the latest technology to help diagnose patients, while giving personal attention and care to each patient.

 

Ernest J. Laney IV, M.D.

Neuroradiology

 

Jack was born and raised in north Florida and is a big fan of the Florida State Seminoles, where he attended both undergrad and medical school. Following the completion of medical school, Jack moved to Chicago to further his medical training by completing a diagnostic radiology residency at Rush and subspecialty fellowship training in diagnostic neuroradiology at Northwestern.

Outside of medicine Jack has many interests including riding his bike at any chance he gets, hiking as well as flying small airplanes. Jack is a big college football and basketball fan and absolutely loves barbecue!

 

Vicky Lin, M.D.

Breast Imaging

 

Dr. Vicky Lin is a well respected specialist in the field of breast imaging. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Princeton University, received her medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, and completed her diagnostic radiology residency and breast imaging fellowship at the University of Chicago.

Dr. Lin is excited to be a part of the Bright Light team, with a focus on the early detection of breast cancer. Born and raised in the Chicagoland area, Dr. Lin is committed to serving the community in which she grew up. She strongly believes in educating women about breast health and strives to give all women the chance to live a vibrant and healthy life.

 

Veer Shah, M.D.

Musculoskeletal Imaging

 

Dr Veer Shah is a board-certified radiologist and a specialist in imaging of the musculoskeletal system and orthopedic injuries. He graduated from the University of Glasgow Medical School in Scotland, and completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University in St Louis. He also completed a subspecialty fellowship in Diagnostic and Interventional Musculoskeletal Radiology at the same institution, where he honed his expertise in the imaging of bones, muscles and joints and image-guided minimally invasive therapies of the spine and extremities.

Dr Shah has numerous academic publications and his clinical interests include musculoskeletal trauma, sports injuries, imaging of bone and soft tissue tumors, and rheumatologic disorders.

In his free time, Dr Shah enjoys cooking and loves to travel, having lived on three continents.

 

Brandon German, D.C., M.S., D.A.C.B.R.

Spinal/Musculoskeletal Imaging

 

Dr. German is a chiropractic physician and radiologist who specializes in imaging of the spine and musculoskeletal system. He is originally from Ohio, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Bowling Green State University.

Following his undergraduate education, Dr. German graduated from National University of Health Sciences as valedictorian of his class. He also completed his diagnostic imaging residency there specializing in musculoskeletal imaging, including the performance and interpretation of musculoskeletal ultrasound.

In his spare time, Dr. German likes playing and watching almost all sports, but especially enjoys basketball and baseball. He also loves going to the park and spending time with his dog, Rocky.

 

Shaheen Ranjha, D.O.

Breast Imaging/Proceduralist

 

Dr. Shaheen Ranjha received her medical degree from Des Moines University, after which she completed intern year at Franciscan Health Olympia Fields, and completed her diagnostic radiology residency at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County.

Dr. Ranjha is delighted to be part of the Bright Light Imaging team. She has an affinity for women’s breast health and imaging, and is partial to performing light procedures such as breast biopsies, thyroid fine needle aspirations and arthrograms. She aims to provide empathetic and compassionate patient-centered care.

 

Rahul Sawlani, M.D.

Body Imaging, Cardiothoracic Imaging

 

Dr. Sawlani has a long history of excellence in medical imaging. He completed undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering with Honors with a focus on MRI as well as medical school at Northwestern University before attending radiology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He then attended a fellowship focusing on Cardiothoracic Imaging at Northwestern University, with additional training in Body MRI.

Since then, Dr. Sawlani has built a career as an expert in the fields of Cardiothoracic and Body Imaging with a long history of strong research, leadership, and clinical work. He also held several leadership positions at St. Luke's Medical Center, the largest hospital in Wisconsin and a quaternary both national and international referral center, including Chair of Cardiothoracic Imaging and Vice Chair of Radiology.

Perhaps most importantly, Dr. Sawlani prides himself on direct and individualized patient care, working closely with referring clinicians for the best possible outcomes. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, and playing and listening to music.

 

Jeffrey Hawk, MD

Neuro Imaging

 

Dr. Hawk grew up in Ohio. He received his medical degree from Ohio State University, after which he completed internship training in Charleston, South Carolina, radiology residency at the University of Michigan and a fellowship in neuroradiology at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

Dr. Hawk is excited to be a part of the Bright Light team. He specializes in imaging of diseases of the brain, spine and head and neck.
